Hollywood Feed University Presents Free, Online Course on Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and Seizures in Pets

Hollywood Feed recently hosted a free, virtual class, entitled Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and Seizures in Pets: How to Recognize the Symptoms and What to Do, taught by veterinarian and neurologist, Dr. Gaemia Tracy. This course was part of Hollywood Feed’s free pet wellness education resource known as Hollywood Feed University.

Dr. Tracy began the presentation by outlining what IVDD is, symptoms, causes, and what treatment entails. He explained that treatment can range from medical management to surgical intervention. Depending on the severity of the IVDD, Dr. Tracy said that there are options for pain relief including medications or surgical procedures, which lessen the recurrence of IVDD.

Dr. Tracy also discussed seizures, their diagnosis, causes, and treatments. He outlined the several types of seizures and what medications can be used to manage them. He also added that owners can help veterinarians by keeping a seizure log, which will make diagnosis and treatment more straightforward.

After each presentation, Dr. Tracy held a live, interactive Q&A session with attendees and addressed the questions asked by viewers. A recording of his class may be viewed on the Hollywood Feed University website at: https://hfu.hollywoodfeed.com/live-presentations/intervertebral-disc-disease-ivdd-and-seizures-in-pets-how-to-recognize-the-symptoms-and-what-to-do/.
