Memphis, TN - April 23, 2024 – Give Services, a growing provider of custom apparel and commercial cleaning with a unique philanthropic approach, announces the appointment of Danny Song as its new Chief Executive Officer. With a blend of educational experience, entrepreneurial expertise, and leadership skills, Song is poised to usher Give Services from a start-up endeavor to an established company.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Song immigrated to the United States as a young child. He earned his B.A. in Journalism and M.A. in Urban Education from Union University, followed by a year with Memphis Teacher Residency (MTR). As an MTR graduate and alum, he helped found four different charter schools in Memphis and Nashville, serving in the capacities of founding teacher, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal. He also worked for the Summer Institutes of Teach for America as a teacher leadership specialist and school site director. In 2016, Song embarked on a new path, founding Believe Memphis Academy. He served as Executive Director of the organization, which operates Believe Memphis Academy Charter School, a public, tuition-free, college prep school.

“After engaging in the work of promoting equity through education for 15 years, I felt that it was time for a transition,” Song said. “The position at Give Services interested me for the opportunities to lead a company focused on growth and giving; to provide high-quality, high-need services in exciting sectors in our country; and to utilize the skills I have gained as an educator, leader, and entrepreneur.”

Give Services is a group of companies with a built-in giving model. Give Services supports companies in two ways: custom apparel and commercial cleaning. Through Give Threads, the company provides schools and businesses with custom/branded uniforms. Give Clean is a full-service commercial cleaning company for offices, schools, medical facilities, and more. Gives Services donates 10% of profits to support its foundation, Lionheart, a non-profit organization that serves people in need worldwide. Since 2018, Give Services has given away more than $700,000 in philanthropy both locally and internationally.

“In search for the next CEO, our ownership group identified four to six qualities we wanted, including strong faith, trust, and leadership skills,” said Give Services founding owner Joe Williams. “During the interview process, Danny ranked the highest overall. We chose him to be the next CEO of Give Services because he matches our faith and moral code. At the same time, he brings a wealth of great leadership skills to take Give Services to the next level.”

In his first 90 days, Song has established and formalized a leadership team, implemented new policies and systems, and is in the process of establishing a growth strategy. “The plan for the next three years is to grow our presence in every market we're already in – Memphis, Nashville, Dallas, and East Texas –  as well as explore potential opportunities in new markets,” said Song.

In addition to his work, Song serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors at Believe Memphis Academy. He consults with select education and nonprofit leaders in Memphis and is an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, where he serves on the Diversity Committee. He is a 2015 and 2017 recipient of the national Sontag Prize in Urban Education and a recipient of the 2023 New Memphis Educator of Excellence Award.
