Lifesigns and HealthyHere Celebrate Healthy Aging Month

September is Healthy Aging Month and is a good reminder of how critical our health is to aging well. According to the CDC, 50% of adults have one or more chronic health conditions, and obesity plagues one-third of adults. The local professionals at Lifesigns and HealthyHere note that annual physicals are one of the best methods for understanding physical health and curtailing any issues before they become more serious or life-threatening. Getting an annual physical and participating in regular preventative care can result in:

  • Better prevention, early detection and management of chronic illness such as diabetes and hypertension
  • Decrease in overall expenditure on pharmaceuticals
  • Decreased number of catastrophic health events
  • Enhanced health and wellness

Lifesigns also has a mobile medical clinic, HealthyHere, that reduces cost, increases access to care, improves wellness and allows a patient to complete a doctor’s visit in about 25% of the time of a traditional office visit. The mobile clinic comes complete with portable ultrasound machines, private rooms for physical exams, and the equipment necessary for performing on-board lab work and biometric measurements. Dozens of local employers have HealthyHere come to their campuses to provide team members with greater access to healthcare.
