The 10th annual Forrest Spence 5K is a wonderful event for all ages. On Saturday, Aug. 26, bring your friends and family to walk or run the 3.1-mile course starting at the Memphis Botanic Garden.
The Forrest Spence 5K begins at the Memphis Botanic Garden at 8 a.m. This fun filled day includes a 5K, food, door prizes, music, 1-mile fun run, 100-yard dash, and a wonderful community of people. A kids' activity area with bounce houses, slides, face painting, games and more is certain to provide fun for all! Strollers are welcome.
The mission of the Forrest Spence Fund is to assist with the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South. The Forrest Spence Fund begins with the story of Brittany and David Spence's first child, Robert Forrest Spence, born on September 10, 2007. Shortly after birth, Forrest developed complications and was transported to the PICU at Le Bonheur Children's in Memphis, Tennessee, where he fought valiantly for life for 55 days before his illness overtook him. The Forrest Spence Fund touches countless lives each year, leaving fingerprints of compassion across our community.
