TREZEVANT HOSTS DRIVE-BY PARADES SO RESIDENTS CAN SEE FAMILIES, SOCIAL DISTANCING STYLE

(Memphis, TN) – Trezevant, a senior living community located at 177 North Highland, found a way to reunite its residents with loved ones while maintaining social distancing guidelines. This spring, Trezevant hosted a series of drive-by parades. Families and friends of residents lined up in a caravan beginning on Highland Park Place. The caravan drove down Holmes and then onto Waynoka where they passed by their loved ones, holding up signs and waving to them. The parade circled around the block several times so that residents could see their friends and family members in their decorated vehicles as many times as possible. Residents whose families RSVPed for the parade were lined up on the sidewalk on Waynoka at least 6 feet from one another, wearing masks. The sidewalk was roped off to avoid exposure to any outside pedestrians as well.

“It has been a long time since our residents have been able to see their families in person,” said Libby King, Trezevant’s Director of Marketing and Sales. “The drive-by parades lifted the spirits of both our residents and their families. In addition to promoting and protecting the physical health of our residents, it is important to care for their emotional and social wellbeing.”
