(MEMPHIS, Tenn. – October 29, 2024) – The Junior League of Memphis (JLM) invites the Memphis community to attend its annual APEX conference, a transformative event that invites participants to embark on a journey of self-discovery and leadership, with keynote speaker, Donna Murray-Brown.
APEX (A DEIB Experience): Intersectionality and Leadership
Date: Friday, November 1, 2024
Time: 8 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Location: Southwest Tennessee Community College (Macon Cove Campus) 5983 Macon Cove Memphis, TN 38134
This year's theme, inspired by the Junior League of Memphis' current President Lori Evans, is "Remember Your Why."
“To truly remember our "why," we often need to rediscover our path, navigating the unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, family dynamics, education and childhood influences that shape us,” said Evans. “This APEX experience will explore how these diverse elements converge to define our identities as leaders and how we engage with the world around us.”
Donna Murray-Brown will be the keynote speaker. Recognized as the 2024 Social Impact Woman to Watch, Donna Murray-Brown is the inaugural Vice President of Strategy and Development of the National Council of Nonprofits (NCN). In her role, she will lead the growth of NCN's core resources through practical and impactful strategic initiatives, integrating knowledge, policy and advocacy competencies to support the network in advancing these initiatives.
APEX 2024: Intersectionality and Leadership will also include:
- Dynamic breakout sessions designed to delve deeper into the practical application of intersectional leadership.
- Poverty Simulation that provides a powerful and immersive experience.
