MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 29, 2017 – Paragon Bank (OTCBB: PGNN.OB) displayed artwork from Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) students in its Saddle Creek Banking Center (7600 Poplar Avenue) throughout the month of August. MOSD helps profoundly deaf and hard-hearing children ages birth to six years old learn language during the most critical developmental stages of their lives. Paragon hosted a reception for the children and their families on Wednesday, August 23.
“These children face communication challenges in ways that other children may not, so it’s remarkable to see how they express themselves through art,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “Any little bit of joy we can bring to them is substantial to our team, and we enjoy seeing everyone’s excitement over the displays of their artwork.”
The students created various pieces of butterfly artwork. Butterflies are a common theme for the school, as they release butterflies at graduation each year to serve as a metaphor for the children’s progress. Paragon worked with MOSD Development Associate Ginger Ragan and Development Director Lauren Raymer-Hays to coordinate the exhibit.
Student artists include Olajide (JJ) Ajidahun, Elana Brewer, Jamari Dowdy, Lewis Gaw, Olivia Greene, Kase Hayes, Landon Hays, Owen Millar, Marlee Morris, Ryker Nabors, Ariana Perez, Madison Ray, Cylas Taylor, Kaidence Thomas, Elijah Wadji, Jordyn Whitaker and Nathan Windle.
