MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 9, 2019 – Paragon Bank (OTCBB: PGNN.OB) is displaying art created by second-grade students at Farmington Elementary School throughout the month of April. The work is featured at its Saddle Creek Banking Center (7600 Poplar Avenue), and members of the community are encouraged to stop by.
"The students at Farmington Elementary have worked hard and put a tremendous amount of creativity into developing these dynamic monoprints," said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. "We are honored to display new art each month and share the many talents of children in our community."
Second grade students at Farmington Elementary School learned about the artist Wayne Thiebaud and his pop art. His paintings featured commodities such as baked goods, hamburgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, ice cream treats, lollipops and lipsticks. Students painted on their desks, scratched textures into the paint if they chose and pressed paper to make a one-of-a-kind piece called monoprint. Students wrote about their artwork and read "Delicious Metropolis," thus creating the name Munchy Monoprints. The bank coordinated the exhibit with Farmington Elementary School art teacher Marci Drury.
Student artists include Hannah Albaugh, Zain Bahhuv, Celeste Bao, Tatumn Brooks, Ella Brown, Micah Cook, Grayson Eldridge, Evan George, Tyce Hanczor, Kennedy Henderson, Rini Hinkle, Marrin, Jonathan McKay, Sofia Moore, Amanda Naraman and Myles Ortiz.
