2021 "Save Our Fathers" Men's Health Summit
More Black men in the US are dying from cancer (specifically prostate cancer), than any other racial/ethnic group. As prostate cancer is claiming the most lives of many men in our community, the Memphis Empowerment Initiative (MEI) is working to make a change through education and outreach. As part of the 2021 “Save Our Fathers” Men’s Health Awareness Summit, our organization is inviting area men to, “Know Your Numbers!”
On Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 10:00am – 1:00pm, this power-packed event will offer men workshops focused on addressing prostate cancer and general wellness. There will also be vendors offering services and information for cancer prevention, as well as special presentations from survivors and current caregivers. This year, MEI is also inviting participation virtually! So that even more friends and families can take part in encouraging our Men to be healthy!
Some of the area’s premier medical practitioners will be leading discussions on the importance of prostate and colon cancer screenings and preventative care.
