SEPTEMBER IS HEALTHY AGING MONTH
Lifesigns Celebrates this Timely Wellness Observance

September is Healthy Aging Month and is a good reminder of how critical our health is to aging well. According to the CDC, 50% of adults have one or more chronic health conditions, and obesity plagues one-third of adults. The local professionals at Lifesigns note that annual physicals are one of the best methods for understanding physical health and curtailing any issues before they become more serious or life-threatening. Getting an annual physical can result in:
  • Better prevention, early detection and management of chronic illness such as diabetes and hypertension
  • Decrease in overall expenditure on pharmaceuticals
  • Decreased number of catastrophic health events, and
  • Enhanced health and wellness
Lifesigns also has a fleet of mobile medical clinics called HealthyHere. The mobile clinics reduce cost, increase access to care, improve wellness and allows a patient to complete a doctor’s visit in about 25% of the time of a traditional office visit. Dozens of local employers have HealthyHere come to their campuses to provide team members with greater access to healthcare.

Lifesigns also recently launched
MealMD, a nutrition-based weight management program. MealMD is the result of collaboration between a team of doctors, dieticians and leading chefs, addressing weight problems by focusing on insulin.

Lifesigns’ new state-of-the-art facility is located at 1727 Kirby Parkway, Suite 100. For more information on the Lifesigns, HealthyHere or MealMD, call 901-685-5520 or visit
