With the Big Game Approaching,
RedRover Zeroes in on Commercials (Good and Bad) and Adoptable Pups

Memphis, TN – RedRover Sales & Marketing Strategy is well underway with Rover Bowl, its multi-year competition that’s dedicated to the brands advertising during the Super Bowl.

In 2017 Rover Bowl is different, yet appropriately focused on two things RedRover quintessentially does well: dogs and brand management.

In partnership with the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County, RedRover’s 2017 Rover Bowl is:
  • Conducting a no-holds-barred critique of “Ad Bowl” participants (hint: look for a doggy-treat or a waste/trash designation on each)
    •  This takes place with pre-released teasers as well as live in-game decisions about what’s on screen
  • Donating “A Round of Treats” to the Humane Society canine residents – one treat for every like or follow on RedRover’s Facebook and Twitter pages during the contest timeline (Jan. 17th through Feb. 5th)
  • Raising awareness via video, email marketing and social media about some of the specific pups who are seeking their forever homes
  • Awarding a lucky, randomly drawn sweepstakes winner a $500 Petco gift card to care for their own beloved pet(s)
RedRover’s CEO, Lori Turner-Wilson, and her pack of marketers are the voices behind the scenes of the Rover Bowl advertising ratings (“trash” or “treat”). At more than $5 million for a 30-second spot in this year’s Big Game, scrutiny is expected.

This is not the first year Turner-Wilson has brazenly tackled big-brand advertisers. Her live, game-day critique of “Ad Bowl” ads dates back five years.

“It’s a passion,” says Turner-Wilson. “While working within large, public brands myself before founding RedRover, I developed an eye for the actual effectiveness of marketing expenditures. While it’s all in good fun, I am energized every year by the opportunity to review the thinking and creativity of our nation’s top advertisers.”
