Memphis College of Art Announces 2017 Summer Academy for High School Students, July 16-29
Rising high school juniors and seniors earn college credit while studying art

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (May 16, 2017) — Memphis College of Art offers an opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors to earn 2 college level credit hours when they attend Summer Academy at the MCA campus. This is a unique two-week experience that runs July 16-July 29.

Summer Academy provides a studio experience for highly motivated high school art students with the intent to study art at the college level. The program will cover both Fine Arts and Design Arts curricula with hands-on study. An emphasis will be placed on visual art career options and professional practices.
Professors teach these students a variety of studio classes, including Illustration, Metals, Graphic Design, Painting and Drawing, and Photography, and give them a glimpse of what potentially lies ahead for them in college. Most importantly, Summer Academy introduces them to the inclusive, alternative, and fun culture of MCA.

MCA Summer Academy is a great enrichment opportunity for young artists, and allows them to gain a first-hand feeling for the culture of a college that is so firmly committed to fine art and design. Students can commute or stay in the dorms, and their two-week tuition is adjusted accordingly. Residential tuition is $1650 and Commuter tuition is $1225.

Registration is open. For admission to Summer Academy, visit: http://mca.edu/admissions/admissions-events/summer-academy/
