(Memphis, TN) – Laurence Kenner was recently named Global Relocation Director for Marx-Bensdorf, REALTORS®. In addition to being a REALTOR® with more than 40 years of experience, she is a certified Global Relocation Professional (GRP), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and is a lifetime member of the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® Multi-Million Dollar Club. Kenner has served in various professional leadership roles including board member for the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® and president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Laurence will continue to serve as a real estate agent in addition to her relocation role.
“We are thrilled that our relocation clients and our agents will benefit from Laurence’s extensive knowledge, expertise and relationships,” says Jimmy Reed, partner and principal broker at Marx-Bensdorf.
Kenner succeeds Eileen Cherny who led the firm’s relocation efforts for more than eighteen years. Under Cherny’s leadership, Marx-Bensdorf received several awards from Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE), a selective global community of more than 565 independent real estate firms, including the Pinnacle Award, Outgoing Sales Production Award, and Website Quality Certification. In 2018, Cherny was presented with the Hall of Fame Award, the top individual award from LeadingRE. The Hall of Fame Award formally acknowledges contributions such as committee involvement, presentations at network conferences, and service on various advisory councils and boards. The program offers three levels of awards based on cumulative points earned through service activities, with the most prestigious being the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® Hall of Fame Award.
Cherny recently celebrated her retirement surrounded by fellow agents and support staff at the Marx-Bensdorf offices. “Her contributions to our success are countless and, while she will be missed, we are fortunate to have her talent and guidance as we continue to transition her role to Laurence,” says David Tester, partner and broker at Marx-Bensdorf.
Cherny will continue in a consulting role, assisting in Marx-Bensdorf’s Relo Quality Recertification (RQC) program. The RQC is the first standardized measure of quality and performance in the relocation industry, built upon a foundation of core values: company commitment, leadership, customer and results focus, education and resource allocation. This program recognizes outstanding efforts by those who go beyond expected quality service and instead choose to excel in their field. Marx-Bensdorf, one of only 27 companies to receive the RQC designation, received its certification in 2006 and has since been recertified several times.
Marx-Bensdorf is one of only two real estate firms in Memphis which are members of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. With a global membership that spans six continents, LeadingRE connects more than 565 firms and 130,000 sales associates who produce over 1.1 million real estate transactions each year. As a member of LeadingRE, Marx-Bensdorf provides a quality real estate experience, global marketing reach and access to top real estate professionals in virtually any market worldwide.
Celebrating its 150th year of service, Marx-Bensdorf is the oldest real estate firm in Memphis.
