Junior Achievement Partners with Communities In Schools of Memphis to Spread Joy to Local Students this Holiday Season

Every year, Communities In Schools of Memphis partners with the Salvation Army to distribute Angel Tree gifts to the parents of students served by the organization. This year, Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South partnered with Communities In Schools of Memphis during the annual Angel Tree distribution to make each student a stocking.

A total of 500 stockings were made by Junior Achievement staff and volunteers for the event. As a result, each Angel Tree gift recipient also received a stocking from Junior Achievement. 423 Angels were served from each of the six schools served by Communities In Schools of Memphis.

“Communities In Schools of Memphis does so much to support and empower students so that they can stay in school and achieve their goals,” says Leigh Mansberg, president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South. “We are honored to have partnered with them to bring some added joy to local school children this holiday season.”

"Our partnership with Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South is a great example of collaboration and leveraging resources," says Sonji Branch, CEO of Communities In Schools of Memphis. "As so many families are facing additional barriers in accessing resources this holiday season, we were thrilled to serve as a conduit - connecting families with the holiday stockings."
