Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South Names Mary Kanowitz as Development Coordinator

(Memphis, TN) - Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South recently named Mary Kanowitz as the nonprofit’s full-time Development Coordinator. For the previous eight months, Mary has worked part-time on Junior Achievement's development and advancement efforts in support of the nonprofit organization’s mission of helping every child become world ready. Before joining Junior Achievement, Mary held a variety of roles in non-profit development and advancement including serving as development and membership director at Temple Israel; contributing writer and marketing coordinator for Memphis Moms Blog; and various roles at the University of Memphis including annual giving manager; administrative secretary-associate VP of development; and special events director in support of the school’s new music center.

Born in Cameron, Missouri, and raised in both Edwardsville, Illinois and Iowa City, Iowa, Mary studied political science at the University of Iowa and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration (BSCJA) from the University of Phoenix. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and their children, Josephine and Ari.
