Hollywood Feed University Presents Free, Online Course on Pet First Aid
Hollywood Feed recently hosted a free virtual class, entitled “How to Be a Muttgyver” taught by Pet Health and Safety Coach, Arden Moore. This course was part of Hollywood Feed’s free pet wellness education resource known as Hollywood Feed University.
Moore began the presentation with an introduction of herself along with Pet Safety Dog Kona and Pet Safety Cat Casey, her pets, each of whom are certified service animals. Throughout the rest of the presentation, Moore reviewed ten tips on unleashing your inner “Muttgyver” using in-home, common items for pet first-aid. Examples of a few of the tips included ways to restrain your dog or cat while examining them for an injury or cleaning a wound; how to approach an injured pet (slowly, staying calm and confident, avoiding direct eye contact); and protecting your own fingers, eyes, and other easily injured parts of the body while dealing with an injured pet.
Many of the tips she gave were helpful for situations such as transporting a pet to the vet as well as examining your pet to figure out what you need to tell your veterinarian at the appointment. She also reviewed the importance of having a pet-specific first-aid kit on hand at home and when traveling with pets. After the presentation, Moore held a live, interactive Q&A session with attendees and addressed the questions asked by viewers.
A recording of her course may be viewed on the Hollywood Feed University website at
