Hollywood Feed University Presents Free, Online Course on Holiday Pet Safety: Keeping Your Dogs & Cats Healthy & Happy this Holiday Season

Hollywood feed recently hosted a free virtual class, entitled “Holiday Pet Safety: Keeping Your Dogs & Cats Healthy & Happy this Holiday Season” taught by pet influencer and veterinarian Dr. Sarah Wooten. This course was part of Hollywood Feed’s free pet wellness education resource known as Hollywood Feed University.

In this presentation, Dr. Wooten discussed common holiday hazards for dogs and cats and how to avoid them. Dr. Wooten also shared tips on traveling with your pet and minimizing holiday specific stress in the home as well. Some of these holiday hazards for pets include holiday trees, holiday lights and electrical cords as well as common holiday plants that can pose problems such as poinsettias. Dr. Wooten then went on to suggest safer alternatives to keep pets from vet visits during the holidays.

Dr. Wooten then touched on the topic of general holiday stress in our pets. Holiday disrupters that can upset pets include changes in regular routines, holiday visitors, lack of regular exercise, holiday decorations, and traveling. Your pet may even become stressed as a result of any stress you or your family may experience during the holiday season. Dr. Wooten discussed ways to reduce stress such as sticking to regular routines and providing adequate exercise time for pets.

After each presentation, Dr. Wooten held a live, interactive Q&A session with attendees and addressed the questions asked by viewers.

A recording of each class may be viewed on the Hollywood Feed University website at: https://hfu.hollywoodfeed.com/live-presentations/holiday-pet-safety-keeping-your-dogs-cats-healthy-happy-this-holiday-season/
