MEMPHIS, TENN. (August 9, 2017) – – – CROSSTOWN BREWING COMPANY co-founders Will Goodwin and Clark Ortkiese today announced the brewery’s first two beer offerings as well as launched the brewery’s new website (www.crosstownbeer.com).

Crosstown Brewing’s first beers will be a West Coast-style IPA called TRAFFIC and a blonde ale called SIREN. The brands’ looks were produced by Tom Martin Design who also created the Crosstown Brewing Company brand.

Traffic is big, bold hoppy IPA with bright tropical and citrus flavors balanced by malt character. Siren, on the other hand, is a well-balanced blonde ale that is “understated and subtle,” according to Ortkiese, and is a “beer that can go anywhere."

“Having spent so much time in the Crosstown neighborhood, we’ve become very familiar with the sights and sounds of our home,” Ortkiese continued. “Cleveland Street is very busy and the 42 is one of the busiest bus routes in the city. The roar of traffic and the drone of sirens are the ambient noises when you’re at the brewery.

“Watching Tom (Martin) bring those concepts to life and flesh them out without being too literal was extremely satisfying.”

Goodwin and Ortkiese plan to have 10 distinct beers online in the taproom at any given time once production is in full-swing.

The craft brewery and taproom facility, located in a freestanding building just west of Crosstown Concourse in Midtown Memphis, is scheduled to open late November 2017. Construction on the project began early this summer. Designed by Hunter Fleming of Facture Design, the building will feature ample windows and natural light. It will also have a canning operation onsite.
