Cowboy Mouth’s Fred LeBlanc to Speak at Racquet Club

Memphis, TN— Famed drummer/singer/songwriter/producer Fred LeBlanc will speak at the Racquet Club of Memphis on July 12 at 6:00 pm as part of the club’s Live Well Speaker Series.

LeBlanc’s talk, “The Energy of Enthusiasm,” will give fans a peek into his world-famous on-stage persona and a look at how he channels his boundless energy into his daily life, whether he’s writing a new song, conducting routine band business, or dealing with the demands of a constantly touring rock ’n roll band.

“Over 30 years as a performer and musician, I’ve developed methods to reignite my enthusiasm at will, whether I’m just going about my day or singing for 50,000 people at a festival,” LeBlanc says. “My talk describes ways I tap into my energy, and I hope it will help folks find their own sources of passion and enthusiasm.”

LeBlanc and Cowboy Mouth have been popular in the Memphis area for 25 years. They’ve performed regularly at Memphis in May, the Peabody’s New Year’s Eve bash, Lafayette’s Music Room, and numerous events in the region, always drawing large and enthusiastic crowds. The band’s next performance will be at Lafayette’s on July 28.

Most widely known for the 90’s hit “Jenny Says,” LeBlanc started playing professionally in the 1980’s with the Backbeats and Dash Rip Rock. He founded Cowboy Mouth in 1990. The band has released 12 albums and remains one of the top live acts in the country, playing for tens of thousands of people annually at LeBlanc’s trademark “rock ’roll revivals.” As LeBlanc has said, “Our shows are celebratory, life-affirming experiences. With every show, no matter where it is,

we try to turn it into New Orleans during the middle of Mardi Gras. It's a unique live concert experience. It's like a southern gospel revival without the religion.”

Perhaps Cake Magazine said it best: “On a bad night, Cowboy Mouth will tear the roof off the joint, and on a good night, they’ll save your soul.”

The Live Well Speaker Series at the Racquet Club features local and regional experts discussing a variety of topics relating to physical and emotional health. The events are free and open to the public.
