The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design announce this year’s inaugural group of new, groundbreaking, and cutting-edge private houses, apartments, vacation homes, residential additions, multi-family housing, restoration/renovations, sustainable and affordable housing before a global audience. The program presents pioneering architectural projects that define the present and shape the future of residential design globally.
Civitas serves as a living laboratory and immersive tool for experimental thinking, providing performance data which, analyzed over time and through evolving conditions, reveals a broad application of high performance design strategies for a wide range of typologies and scales. Civitas is the world’s first dual certified Zero Energy and Zero Carbon building by the International Living Future Institute; has an EUI of -2.6; is certified LEED v4.1 Homes Platinum; and an AIA 2021 COTE Top Ten winner. Civitas was selected for defining the New Domestic Landscape through innovation.
The jury was led by Flavio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer | Senior Vice President of Ferrari Design,
Ferrari SpA. Also on the jury: Alberto Alessi of
Alessi SpA; Damian Mycroft, Design Director of
Coca-Cola Company; and Mauro Porcini, Chief Design Officer of
PepsiCo., Inc.

Contemporary Space Athens/The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies in Athens, Greece September 30 through October 23, 2022.
