DESCRIPTION:"Works on Paper" is a collection of artwork inspired by a beautiful essay titled\, "Between Solitude and Loneliness." Balink derived these pieces from that essay\, along with rivers\, trees and open spaces\, noting they were a bit haunting. These experiences left a permanent\, lingering impression along with thoughts about solitude and how it can often be a comfortable feeling that is all portrayed in her artwork.\n\n\n\nJennifer Balink is a native Memphian\, independent thinker\, problem solver\, public speaker\, writer\, photographer\, business strategist\, tennis player\, dog lover and home-trained cook. She is executive director of Kindred Place (formerly The Exchange Club Family Center)\, a nonprofit agency dedicated to ending family violence. She lives in Midtown Memphis with her husband\, children\, three rescue dogs and a very fat black cat.
