Standpoint Presents: Business That Works For All

The business sector in the United States holds a great deal of power. At the same time, human rights are not a part of public discourse in the U.S. We discuss civil rights, which are drawn from existing laws, but the idea of human rights--those inalienable rights endowed by their creator as described in the Declaration of Independence--is missing. The intersection of these two realities--the power of business and the marginalization of human rights in the U.S.--creates a seemingly immovable barrier to achieving race equity in the private sector.

This International Human Rights Day, join Dr. Adriane Johnson-Williams, founder of Standpoint Consulting and author of the forthcoming book Not Your Father's Capitalism: What race equity asks of U.S. business leaders, and Professor Jena Martin, an internationally recognized expert in business and human rights, on December 10th at 1pm CT  for Standpoint Presents: Business That Works For All. Together, we’ll examine how businesses can embrace human rights as a commitment to race equity. Companies across the U.S. made public pledges to equity in 2020; this conversation will offer a powerful way to fulfill those pledges.

Standpoint Consulting believes more equitable and people-centered approaches to today’s toughest problems begin with listening, reflecting, and (most importantly) acting on the lived experiences of those most impacted by the work.
