Head to the Metal Museum’s most anticipated event of the year, Repair Days, beginning on September 21 and concluding on September 24. Over 200 volunteers will restore as many as 350 items to their former glory – everything from rusted garden furniture to broken jewelry to warped heirloom silver – to raise funds for the museum’s programs. At Repair Days, they’ve seen (and repaired) it all. Bring your broken, dinged and dull metalware for a free estimate. Most repairs are completed within 24 hours. On Saturday, September 23, the Museum is hosting the Repair Days Family Fun Tent, where metalsmiths of all ages and skill levels can try their hand at various kid-friendly processes.
