SOCIAL MEDIA: CAN EMPLOYERS CONTROL THE PANDORA'S BOX OPENED BY EMPLOYEES' INCREASING USE OF TECHNOLOGY
Government agencies and the courts take a strong interest in how employers deal with employees' use of social media. Did you know that the National Labor Relations Board may prohibit employers from disciplining employees who post about their working conditions on Facebook? The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission may weigh in about how employers use social media for recruiting. Learn how to address these issues and social media issues involving disclosure of confidential information and trade secrets; data privacy and security breaches; and damage to morale, reputation or goodwill. Your panel of employment lawyers also will analyze potential legal pitfalls such as wage and hour considerations; off-duty conduct laws; and whistle blowing protections. These and other cutting edge social media issues will be the subject of this overview

BULLYING AND HARASSMENT: HOW TO HELP EMPLOYEES NOT CROSS THE LINE IN THE WORKPLACE
Everyone by now is familiar with sexual harassment and we are learning about what bullying looks like in a school setting. Now, claims of workplace abuse are on the rise. This expert panel of will review the basics of a harassment claim, not only sexual harassment but also racial, ethnic and other forms of harassment, and also delve into the legal claims someone subjected to bullying in the workplace can bring.  Review best practices for crafting legally compliant policies, training employees and supervisors, conducting effective investigations and taking appropriate disciplinary action. During this informative session, learn how to recognize harassment and bullying and how to prevent your employees and supervisors from crossing the line.
