AARP Foundation | Summer of Service to Seniors Meal Pack Challenge

On Saturday, July 28, AARP Foundation is returning to Memphis for our Summer of Service to Seniors℠ Meal Pack Challenge at the FedEx Forum. We’ll be rallying volunteers to pack 500,000 meals for struggling seniors in the region. 
 
In the Memphis area, too many older adults struggle daily to secure economic opportunity and maintain social connections. The Meal Pack Challenge is a great opportunity to come together as a community to help your vulnerable older neighbors.
 
We are asking volunteers to give us about two hours, during which time each volunteer can help pack 166 meals! The meals will go to local food banks for distribution across the region.
 
Your hard work will also fuel our larger effort to pack 2.5 million meals this summer and call attention to the issue of senior poverty. Our events across the summer in Chicago and Washington, D.C. will generate 2 million meals. Help us kick off the summer!
